Rehearsals: Community Centre
Schedule: Wednesdays from 4:30 – 5:30 pm
Annual fees: $330 (January 2024 to June 2024)
The Junior Choir performs in two annual CEM concerts accompanied by professional musicians. The Juniors also perform in other concerts and festivals. By exploring ambitious repertoire in a friendly atmosphere, choristers develop their:
- vocal technique
- ability to read a musical score
- interest in music theory and rhythms
- capacity to sing in harmony (two or three parts)
- team spirit
- stage presence
- ability to sing by heart in different languages.
Each week, choristers will receive an online assignment to do or a list of lyrics to memorize. Choristers should spend between 5 and 30 minutes on this homework each week.
Criteria *:
- register (form and payment) before the first rehearsal on Wednesday, January 10 2024
- attend the first rehearsal on Wednesday, January 10 2024 from 4:30 – 5:30 pm
- attend the initiation session on Sunday, January 14 2024 from 3:15 – 4:15 pm
* unless otherwise agreed to with CEM
Concert Attire :
- Either a concert dress to rent from CEM
- Or black pants and a black shirt, to be purchased
